An implant is a small titanium screw placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. Why implants usually need two trips
Because the bone needs time to heal around the implant, most implant journeys are split into two visits, a few months apart:
- Trip 1: assessment, implant placement, and temporary teeth so you never leave without a smile.
- Healing: around 3–4 months at home while the implants integrate.
- Trip 2: your final crowns or bridge are fitted, usually within a week.

Does it hurt, and how is recovery?
Placement is done under local anaesthesia, so you shouldn't feel pain during the procedure. Mild swelling or discomfort for a few days afterwards is normal and managed with simple medication. Because appointments take only part of the day, most patients rest, then enjoy Bodrum gently between them.
