Porcelain veneers are one of the most searched-for treatments in dental tourism, and one of the most misunderstood. Here is a straight explanation of what they are, who they help, and how a veneer case really works at a clinic in Bodrum.
What are porcelain veneers?
A veneer is a thin shell of dental porcelain bonded to the front of a tooth. It changes the colour, shape and alignment of your smile without replacing the whole tooth. Because the porcelain is translucent, a well-made veneer reflects light like natural enamel, which is why the material matters as much as the dentist.
At Esteteeth we work mainly with E-MAX laminates and layered feldspathic porcelain, shade-matched to your skin and eyes rather than a single bright white. You can see real before & after cases on our main page.
Send a few photos of your teeth on WhatsApp for a free assessment, in English, German or Turkish.
Who are veneers right for?
- Teeth that are discoloured, worn or chipped
- Small gaps or minor crowding you'd rather not treat with braces
- A smile that looks uneven in photographs
Veneers are a cosmetic solution, not a structural one. If a tooth is heavily broken or root-treated, a crown or implant is usually the right answer instead. A good clinic will tell you that clearly, there should be no pressure to over-treat.
How many days does it take?
A typical veneer case is completed in two visits over about 5–7 days. On the first visit the teeth are assessed and lightly prepared, and a digital smile design is agreed with you. The porcelain is then produced, often in the clinic's own laboratory, and fitted a few days later. That gap is exactly why Bodrum works so well: you spend it by the sea rather than in a waiting room.
Veneers, laminates or crowns, what's the difference?
Laminates & veneers
The most conservative option: minimal tooth reduction, ideal for colour and shape changes on healthy teeth.
Zirconia crowns
Full-coverage caps for teeth that need protection as well as appearance, stronger, used where a veneer wouldn't hold.
Hollywood Smile
A full upper-and-lower makeover combining veneers and crowns, designed as one composition. It's a plan, not a single product.
What to check before you fly
- Real reviews on independent platforms, not just the clinic's own website. Esteteeth is rated on Google, Trustpilot, WhatClinic and Booking.dentist.
- A written plan before you book flights, so you know the number of days and what's included.
- Who does the work, you should know your dentist's name. Ours are on the Doctors section.
- Aftercare, how the clinic follows up once you're home.
Why Bodrum?
Bodrum pairs a licensed, modern clinic with the Aegean coast. Treatment takes part of the day; the rest is beaches, the marina and the castle. For international patients we arrange free airport and hotel transfers and work in English, German, French and Turkish.
