Safety Guide

Is Dental Tourism Safe? What to Check Before You Go

Travelling abroad for dental work can be completely safe, or a gamble, and the difference is almost entirely down to the clinic you choose. Here's what to look for, and the warning signs that should make you walk away.

What makes treatment abroad safe

Safety in dental tourism isn't about the country; it's about standards. A safe clinic is licensed and inspected, uses recognised implant and porcelain brands, works with sterile, single-use instruments, and puts everything in a written plan before you travel. Esteteeth is a licensed polyclinic in Bodrum, rated on Google, Trustpilot, WhatClinic and Booking.dentist, not just on our own website.

Have a question about safety?

Ask us anything on WhatsApp before you decide, in English, German or Turkish. No pressure, no obligation.

Red flags to walk away from

  • A permanent full mouth in 3 days. Implants need months to heal; anyone promising otherwise is cutting corners. See our implants guide for the real timeline.
  • A price before a plan. A firm quote given without seeing your case, or heavy pressure to book immediately, is a warning sign.
  • No named dentist. You should know exactly who is treating you. Ours are on the Doctors section.
  • Reviews only on the clinic's own site. Independent, verifiable reviews matter more than a glossy gallery.

Questions worth asking before you book

  • Which implant and porcelain brands do you use?
  • Will I get a written plan with exact days before I book flights?
  • Who is my dentist, and what happens if I have a problem back home?
  • How do you handle aftercare once I've flown home?

Aftercare matters as much as the treatment

Good clinics don't disappear when you land back home. At Esteteeth we stay reachable on WhatsApp for follow-up questions between and after visits, in English, German, French or Turkish. If you're weighing the value side too, our honest look at Turkey vs UK dental costs explains what a fair comparison really includes.
